By creating an account or otherwise using Legis Daily, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Legis Daily is operated by Joe Wu, doing business as Legis Daily.
Legis Daily provides a platform for tracking legislation, votes, and legislators. We aggregate publicly available government data and combine it with original features including AI-generated bill summaries, personalised bookmarks, and view history.
What we own. The Legis Daily name, site design, source code, and AI-generated bill summaries are proprietary to Legis Daily. To the extent protectable under applicable law, including copyright in human-authored, selected, arranged, or edited elements, you may not copy, reproduce, or republish them without our written permission.
What we do not own. Legislative data sourced from government bodies — including but not limited to bill text, vote records, and legislator information from the US Congress and other public legislative sources — is in the public domain and is not claimed as proprietary by Legis Daily. We make no copyright claim over underlying government data.
Attribution. US federal legislative data is sourced from Congress.gov. We may add further data sources over time; each will be listed on our About page.
You may not:
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. If you create an account using Google Sign-In, your account is still subject to these Terms in full, and you remain responsible for all activity under that account.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, created legal risk, or misused the service. You may stop using the service at any time and may delete your account from your profile page. Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law and disputes, and any provisions that by their nature should survive, will survive termination.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Legis Daily, its affiliates, officers, employees, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of applicable law or third-party rights.
Legis Daily is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that legislative data is complete, accurate, or up to date. Always verify important information against official government sources.
AI-generated bill summaries are produced automatically and may contain errors or omissions. They are not legal advice.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Legis Daily and its affiliates, officers, employees, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of the service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or related to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) USD $100 or (b) the amount you paid to us, if any, in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable advance notice by posting an in-product notice, updating the "Last updated" date, and, where appropriate, notifying account holders by email. Changes become effective on the stated effective date. Where required by applicable law, we will obtain your explicit consent to material changes before they apply to you.
These terms and any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these terms or the service are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. You and Legis Daily agree that the courts located in Toronto, Ontario will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either party may bring an eligible claim in small claims court in a competent jurisdiction. To the extent permitted by applicable law, you and Legis Daily agree to bring claims only on an individual basis and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding, and each party waives any right to a jury trial.
