Tropical Plant Health Initiative Act

The Tropical Plant Health Initiative Act amends the Food, Agriculture, Conservation, and Trade Act of 1990 to establish a new program for research and extension grants . The initiative aims to develop and disseminate science-based tools and treatments to combat plant pests and noxious weeds, and to establish areawide integrated pest management programs in affected regions. Furthermore, it supports surveying, data collection, and in-depth research into the biology, immunology, ecology, genomics, and bioinformatics of these vital tropical plants. The bill also extends the authorization of appropriations for these critical activities until 2030, ensuring continued funding for tropical plant health research.
