This bill directs the Secretary of Agriculture to release a federal reversionary interest in specific land located within the Black River State Forest in Millston, Wisconsin. This reversionary interest , held by the United States, currently requires the approximately 31.83 acres of State forest land to be used for public purposes in perpetuity. The release is contingent upon a land exchange agreement between the State of Wisconsin and Deli, Inc., a local sphagnum moss production business. Under this agreement, the State will convey the State forest land to Deli, Inc. in exchange for approximately 37.27 acres of land owned or optioned by Deli, Inc. The Secretary is required to provide a quitclaim deed as recordable evidence of this release, conveying the U.S. interest without consideration, before the exchange deeds are recorded. This legislative action facilitates the land swap, allowing the State to expand the Black River State Forest with new acreage while removing the federal restriction from the land transferred to Deli, Inc.
