SHOPP Act of 2025

The "Supporting all Healthy Options when Purchasing Produce Act of 2025," also known as the SHOPP Act, seeks to amend the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008. Its primary purpose is to enhance the Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program by expanding the types of healthy foods eligible for incentives and ensuring year-round access for families. The bill specifically allows the program to offer incentives for fresh frozen fruits or vegetables , thereby increasing the availability of nutritious options throughout the year. Additionally, it broadens the definition of eligible produce to include legumes , alongside fresh and fresh frozen fruits and vegetables, providing a wider variety of healthy food choices for program participants.
