Geese House Site Conveyance Act

The Geese House Site Conveyance Act directs the Secretary of the Interior to transfer approximately 21,578 acres of Federal land within the Denali National Park and Preserve to Doyon, Limited. This land, specifically selected by Doyon, Limited in 1978, is precisely described by sections and serial numbers, with certain lots and lakes explicitly excluded from the conveyance.

The bill imposes several significant restrictions on the conveyed land, prohibiting Doyon, Limited from alienating or transferring it to any entity other than the United States, authorizing mining or mineral activities, or permitting development that would diminish the cultural value or significance of the Geese House. Public easements required under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act must also be reserved, and the conveyed land will be treated as if transferred under section 14(h)(8) of that Act.

Additionally, the Act mandates the Secretary to adjust the boundary of the Denali National Park and Preserve to exclude the conveyed acreage, aligning it with a proposed boundary. This conveyance is exempt from certain federal regulations and prior land withdrawals, streamlining the transfer process.
