National Transit Frontline Workforce Training Act

This legislation mandates the Secretary of Transportation to establish a transit workforce center , aimed at bolstering the public transportation industry. The center will be created by awarding grants to a qualified national nonprofit organization. This organization must demonstrate extensive experience in public transportation workforce development, including technical assistance, outreach, and the capacity to support standards-based training and emerging technologies. The primary mission of this center is to assist the public transportation industry by supporting the recruitment, hiring, training, and retention of skilled frontline workers. Its duties include developing and providing training programs tailored for urban, suburban, rural, and Tribal public transportation providers, as well as disseminating educational materials. The center will also offer technical assistance, conduct data analytics on workforce trends, and engage in outreach to increase awareness of its resources, ultimately ensuring a skilled workforce capable of adapting to new and emerging technologies.
