This bill requires the Secretary of Labor, through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), to establish guidelines and mandatory requirements for opioid overdose reversal medication in workplaces. Within 270 days of enactment, OSHA must issue nonmandatory guidance for most private sector employers, advising on acquiring and maintaining such medication and providing annual employee training on its usage. Concurrently, OSHA is mandated to issue mandatory regulations for all Federal agencies, including the Veterans Health Administration, compelling them to acquire and maintain opioid overdose reversal medication and ensure annual employee training on its administration, thereby enhancing workplace safety and overdose response capabilities.
