This bill amends the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act to establish mandatory fee-free days for entry to federal recreational lands and waters. Congress finds that these fee-free days provide opportunities for public support and should align with important national dates to encourage volunteerism and national pride. Specifically, the legislation requires the Secretary to provide free admission on six designated days each year, shifting from a discretionary "may provide for" to a mandatory "shall provide for." These mandated days include Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday , the first day of National Park Week , Juneteenth National Independence Day , Great American Outdoors Day , National Public Lands Day , and Veterans Day . The bill also retains the Secretary's authority to designate additional fee-free days beyond these required dates.
