Enhanced COVID-19 Transparency Act of 2025

Summary

This bill requires the Director of National Intelligence and heads of intelligence community elements to jointly perform a declassification review of intelligence related to the COVID-19 pandemic within 180 days. The review focuses on the pandemic's origins, including research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Gain of Function research , and funding for coronavirus research. It also covers intelligence on efforts by Chinese officials to obstruct information sharing or investigations into origins, such as limiting data sharing with the U.S. and allies, or promoting alternative narratives. Upon completion, declassified intelligence products will be made public, with necessary redactions, and an unredacted version provided to congressional intelligence committees.
