Monterey Bay National Heritage Area Study Act

This bill directs the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a comprehensive study to assess the suitability and feasibility of establishing the Monterey Bay National Heritage Area in California. The Secretary will consult with various stakeholders, including the State of California, local organizations, Tribal Governments, and the Monterey Bay Economic Partnership, to gather necessary information for this assessment. The geographic scope of the study encompasses specific counties and potentially adjacent areas. These include Monterey County San Mateo County Santa Cruz County San Luis Obispo County in California. Additionally, any other area in the state with similar heritage aspects and located adjacent to or in the vicinity of these counties may be included in the assessment, following established federal guidelines for such studies.
