This bill authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a comprehensive study to assess the suitability and feasibility of designating specific land in California as the Monterey Bay National Heritage Area . The study will involve consultation with the State of California, local organizations, Tribal Governments, and other relevant entities to gather diverse perspectives. The primary areas to be studied include Monterey, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, and San Luis Obispo counties . Additionally, the study may encompass other adjacent or nearby areas in California that possess heritage aspects similar to those within the core counties. This assessment will be conducted in accordance with established federal guidelines for National Heritage Area studies.
