USS Frank E. Evans Act

Summary

This legislation, titled the "USS Frank E. Evans Act" , directs the Secretary of Defense to authorize the inclusion of the names of the 74 crew members of the USS Frank E. Evans on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. These crew members were tragically killed on June 3, 1969. The Secretary must ensure this inclusion occurs within one year of the Act's enactment. Furthermore, the bill requires the Secretary of Defense to consult with the Secretary of the Interior, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, and other relevant authorities regarding the nomenclature, placement, and any space limitations for these additional names. Importantly, the provisions of the Commemorative Works Act will not apply to any activities carried out under this legislation.
