This bill amends the State Justice Institute Act of 1984 to enhance the security of State and local judicial personnel. It authorizes the State Justice Institute to provide financial and technical support to qualified national nonprofit organizations. These organizations would establish and operate a State judicial threat intelligence and resource center to address threats against judges and court staff. The center's functions include providing judicial officer safety education and training , conducting physical security assessments, and proactively monitoring threats. It would also coordinate with Federal, State, and local law enforcement, develop standardized incident reporting, and create a national database for tracking threats. Furthermore, the bill mandates annual reports to Congress on the number and types of threats to the judiciary.
