Stephanie Tubbs Jones Uterine Fibroid Research and Education Act of 2025

This bill aims to significantly enhance research, education, and treatment for uterine fibroids, a condition affecting a large percentage of women, particularly minority individuals. It mandates the Secretary of Health and Human Services to expand, intensify, and coordinate research efforts, authorizing $30,000,000 annually for fiscal years 2026 through 2030 to address the current underfunding in this area. A crucial component involves establishing or expanding a research database to collect data on services furnished for uterine fibroids under Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Additionally, the Secretary will work with healthcare-related specialty societies to promote evidence-based care for individuals with fibroids, ensuring providers are informed about diverse treatment options and the specific needs of minority patients.
