Rim of the Valley Corridor Preservation Act

This bill, known as the Rim of the Valley Corridor Preservation Act, aims to significantly expand the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. It achieves this by formally incorporating the "Rim of the Valley Unit Proposed Addition" into the recreation area's official boundary, updating the relevant section of the National Parks and Recreation Act of 1978.

The legislation specifies that all newly acquired land within the Rim of the Valley Unit will be administered according to the existing laws and regulations governing the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. While the addition will not impede the operation or maintenance of water resource facilities or public utilities within the new unit, their activities must be conducted in a manner that reasonably avoids or reduces impacts on the unit's natural resources.
