Any land or interests acquired within this newly added Rim of the Valley Unit will be administered in accordance with the established laws and regulations governing the broader National Recreation Area. Furthermore, the bill clarifies that the inclusion of this unit will not impede the operation, maintenance, or modification of existing water resource facilities or public utilities within its boundaries. However, all such utility and water resource activities must be conducted in a manner that reasonably avoids or reduces their impact on the natural resources of the Rim of the Valley Unit.
