AVIATE Act of 2025

This bill proposes to expand vocational rehabilitation options for veterans with service-connected disabilities. It specifically authorizes the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to approve certain non-degree flight training programs as part of a veteran's rehabilitation plan. Currently, such flight training is generally restricted to courses offered by higher education institutions for college credit. This legislation would amend title 38, United States Code, to allow the VA to fund flight training that does not lead to a standard college degree, thereby broadening opportunities for veterans seeking careers in aviation. These changes would apply to rehabilitation programs approved on or after August 1, 2025.
