Public Safety Officer Concussion and Traumatic Brain Injury Health Act of 2025

This legislation mandates the Secretary of Health and Human Services, acting through the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to collect and make publicly available comprehensive information regarding concussion and traumatic brain injury (TBI) among public safety officers. This includes research on evidence-based practices, personal protective equipment recommendations, and medical information related to diagnosing, treating, and reducing the incidence of these injuries.

The collected information will be disseminated through updates to the CDC website and other means, targeting diverse audiences such as medical and public health professionals, public safety employers, mental health professionals, and patients and their families. The Secretary is required to consult with these groups to ensure the information's content, quality, and utility meet the needs of the public safety community. Additionally, the bill authorizes support for public and private efforts to create model guidelines and protocols for treating concussion and TBI in public safety officers, potentially through grants or cooperative agreements.
