Summary

This bill directs the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a comprehensive study of the Deerfield River in Massachusetts and Vermont. The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate the river's eligibility for designation as part of the national wild and scenic rivers system . The study mandate encompasses the entire Deerfield River, including its North, South, East, and West Branches, along with numerous major tributaries. These tributaries include the Green River, North River, and Chickley River, among others. The Secretary is required to complete this study and submit a detailed report to the appropriate congressional committees within three years of funds becoming available for the effort.
