The study mandate encompasses the entire Deerfield River, including its North, South, East, and West Branches, along with numerous major tributaries. These tributaries include the Green River, North River, and Chickley River, among others. The Secretary is required to complete this study and submit a detailed report to the appropriate congressional committees within three years of funds becoming available for the effort.
