Salem Maritime National Historical Park Redesignation and Boundary Study Act

This legislation officially redesignates the existing Salem Maritime National Historic Site as the "Salem Maritime National Historical Park." This change ensures that all legal and official references to the site will reflect its new designation.

Furthermore, the bill mandates that the Secretary of the Interior undertake a comprehensive boundary study. This study will assess the feasibility and suitability of incorporating additional sites and resources within Salem, Massachusetts, and its vicinity, into the newly established National Historical Park. The focus of this evaluation will be on areas significant to the region's maritime history, coastal defenses, and military history, including the Salem Armory Visitor Center, with a report on findings and recommendations due to Congress within three years of funding.
