Furthermore, the Act directs the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a comprehensive boundary study . This study will assess the suitability and feasibility of incorporating additional sites and resources within Salem, Massachusetts, and its vicinity into the newly expanded park. The focus of this evaluation includes areas significant for their maritime history, coastal defenses, and military history, such as the Salem Armory Visitor Center and Park. The Secretary is required to submit a report detailing the study's results, findings, and recommendations to Congress within three years of funding availability.
