Salem Maritime National Historical Park Redesignation and Boundary Study Act

This legislation officially redesignates the existing Salem Maritime National Historic Site as the Salem Maritime National Historical Park . This change ensures that all legal and official references to the site will reflect its new designation as a National Historical Park. Furthermore, the Act directs the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a comprehensive boundary study . This study will assess the suitability and feasibility of incorporating additional sites and resources within Salem, Massachusetts, and its vicinity into the newly expanded park. The focus of this evaluation includes areas significant for their maritime history, coastal defenses, and military history, such as the Salem Armory Visitor Center and Park. The Secretary is required to submit a report detailing the study's results, findings, and recommendations to Congress within three years of funding availability.
