PERFORM Act

This legislation, known as the PERFORM Act, amends federal law to impose significant restrictions on bonuses and other performance-based compensation for the Postmaster General. Such compensation would be prohibited if, in the preceding fiscal year, the Postal Service's total costs exceeded its total revenue, or if it failed to meet established nationwide service performance targets, received an adverse financial audit opinion, or did not submit a required report to Congress.

The bill further mandates that the Postmaster General submit an annual report to Congress detailing executive compensation, performance metrics, and the Postal Service's financial and service performance data. This report will be reviewed by the Inspector General of the Postal Service to ensure compliance, thereby enhancing fiscal oversight and accountability within the organization.
