This bill, known as the "Maryland Whole Watershed Program Federal Partnership Act," grants the Chesapeake Bay Program Office (CBPO) the authority to participate as an advisory member of the State Management Team for the Maryland Whole Watershed Program. Furthermore, the CBPO is authorized to extend this advisory role to any other state program that is substantially similar to Maryland's initiative, thereby broadening its collaborative reach. In fulfilling these responsibilities, the CBPO is specifically empowered to undertake several key activities. These activities include coordinating with State and local governments , as well as other Federal agencies, to ensure integrated efforts. Additionally, the CBPO is authorized to provide crucial technical assistance and financial resources to support projects implemented within the Chesapeake Bay watershed, aiming to bolster restoration and protection efforts.
