This legislation reauthorizes the WISEWOMAN program, enabling the Secretary, through the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to award supplemental grants for additional preventive health services. These grants support projects that offer screenings for blood pressure and cholesterol , provide health education, and ensure appropriate referrals for medical treatment and follow-up services. The program also mandates the evaluation of these activities through surveillance and monitoring. Eligibility for services includes women already receiving breast and cervical cancer screenings under Section 1501, as well as other low-income women meeting specific criteria, with services provided by designated entities. To fund these initiatives, the bill authorizes an appropriation of $250,000,000 for the period of fiscal years 2027 through 2031.
