This legislation extends and establishes moratoria on oil and gas activities off the coast of Florida until 2032. It amends existing law to prolong the current prohibition on oil and gas leasing and related activities in the Gulf of Mexico off Florida, pushing the expiration date from 2022 to 2032 , and explicitly bans exploration permits in this area. Additionally, the bill creates a new moratorium for the Atlantic coast of Florida. This new prohibition prevents the Secretary from offering for oil and gas leasing, preleasing, or any related activity, including seismic testing , and from issuing exploration permits in the Straits of Florida Planning Area and the southern portion of the South Atlantic Planning Area until June 30, 2032 .
