INFORM Act of 2025

This bill, titled the Immigration Notification for Facility Oversight and Relocation Management Act of 2025 or the INFORM Act of 2025 , mandates that the Secretary of Homeland Security provide notice to the immediate family of any individual detained under immigration laws within 24 hours of their transfer to a different facility. The required notification must include the reason for the transfer and comprehensive contact information for the new facility, such as its name, address, phone number, and a point of contact. The legislation broadly defines "immediate family" to encompass parents, siblings, children, and spouses, including step- and foster relations, and legally recognized common law, civil union, or domestic partnerships. This Act aims to ensure that family members are promptly informed about the location and circumstances of their detained relatives following any relocation, thereby enhancing transparency and communication.
