This legislation requires the Secretary of the Interior to partner with the Secretary of Agriculture and the State of Hawaii to address Rapid Ohia Death , a fungal disease affecting native trees. It mandates continued research into the disease's transmission and vectors by the U.S. Geological Survey and the Forest Service Institute of Pacific Islands Forestry. The bill also directs the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to collaborate with federal, state, and local entities for ungulate management in control areas, including on private lands with consent. Furthermore, the Secretary of Agriculture must continue providing financial assistance to prevent the disease's spread and restore native forests. This includes funding for staff and infrastructure at the Institute of Pacific Islands Forestry to conduct essential research.
