This legislation establishes an online repository to increase transparency regarding federal disaster assistance. The Director of the Office of Management and Budget, in consultation with the Secretary of the Treasury and relevant federal agencies, must create a dedicated subpage on an existing federal spending transparency website for this purpose. Covered federal agencies, including those providing aid under the Stafford Act, the Small Business Administration, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, will be required to submit detailed information quarterly. This includes the total amount of disaster assistance provided, amounts expended or obligated to projects, and a comprehensive list of all projects or activities. For each project, agencies must report its name, description, completion status, identification numbers, and location, ensuring all data is machine-readable . The bill aims to provide the public with clear insights into how federal disaster funds are being utilized by eligible recipients, which include states and other entities receiving direct assistance. This initiative seeks to improve accountability for federal funds allocated in response to specified natural disasters.
