This joint resolution proposes to officially redesignate the site currently known as the Robert E. Lee Memorial as the Arlington House National Historic Site . This site is owned and administered by the National Park Service and was originally dedicated as a memorial to Robert E. Lee. Upon enactment, all references in any law, regulation, map, or other official record of the United States will be updated to reflect the new name. Furthermore, the joint resolutions of June 29, 1955, and June 30, 1972, which originally established and amended the memorial, will be repealed.
