This bill proposes to establish the General George C. Marshall House in Leesburg, Virginia, as an affiliated area of the National Park System. The primary goal is to foster public appreciation for the significant historical contributions of United States military leader and statesman George Catlett Marshall, Jr. The George C. Marshall International Center will serve as the designated management entity for this affiliated area. The Secretary of the Interior is authorized to provide technical assistance and financial aid for marketing, interpretation, and preservation, and must enter into a cooperative agreement defining management roles and responsibilities. However, the Secretary's role is specifically limited, as they are explicitly prohibited from acquiring property or assuming overall financial responsibility for the operation, maintenance, or management of the site.
