Delaney Hall Closure Act

This bill requires the Secretary of Homeland Security to cease all immigration detention operations at the Delaney Hall Detention Center in Newark, New Jersey, within 90 days of the bill's enactment. It further stipulates that the Department of Homeland Security shall not enter into any new contracts or agreements to use Delaney Hall for the detention of aliens in the future. To facilitate this closure, the Secretary is mandated to terminate any existing contracts for the operation of the Delaney Hall Detention Center for convenience. Under these terminations, the Department's liability will be strictly limited to payments for services rendered before the contract termination becomes effective, ensuring a clear and defined end to its use as a detention facility.
