Ride in Freedom Act

This bill aims to prohibit the District of Columbia from requiring individuals to wear protective helmets when operating or riding on motorcycles or motor-driven cycles. It specifically prevents the D.C. Council from enacting and the Mayor from enforcing any such requirement, thereby removing the District's authority to impose helmet laws. To achieve this, the legislation explicitly repeals an existing D.C. Municipal Regulation that mandates helmet use. Furthermore, it amends the District of Columbia Home Rule Act to explicitly restrict the Council from enacting any future acts, resolutions, or regulations that would mandate helmets for motorcycles or motor-driven cycles, ensuring a comprehensive prohibition on such requirements within the District.
