GRACE Act

This bill aims to prevent the distribution of federal education funds to educational institutions and agencies that enforce vaccination requirements without providing a clear pathway for religious exemptions. It broadly defines "educational institution or agency" to include elementary schools, secondary schools, local educational agencies, and state educational agencies, encompassing a wide range of educational entities.

A central provision mandates that an exemption must be granted if an individual, or their parent or guardian, asserts that receiving a vaccination would violate a sincerely held religious belief. Crucially, the bill specifies that no documentation or other information can be required to substantiate this religious assertion, thereby simplifying the process for individuals seeking such exemptions. The term "vaccination requirement" covers any mandate for enrollment, attendance, participation in activities, or employment at these institutions.
