Stop MUSK Act

This bill, known as the "Stop Millionaires Using Service for Kickbacks Act" or the "Stop MUSK Act," aims to strengthen conflict of interest regulations for executive branch personnel. It mandates that officers and employees of the executive branch must recuse themselves from any government matter that could financially impact their previous employers or associated organizations. The legislation amends Section 208(a) of title 18, United States Code, to expand these recusal requirements. Specifically, it includes any organization for which an individual served in various capacities—such as an officer, employee, consultant, or direct competitor—during the four-year period immediately preceding their government service. This provision is designed to prevent potential conflicts of interest and ensure ethical conduct and impartiality in government decision-making.
