Furthermore, the legislation transforms the option for states to provide dental-only supplemental coverage into a requirement for certain children. This ensures that children receiving this wraparound dental coverage are not subject to less favorable dental benefits or cost-sharing protections compared to those eligible for the full range of CHIP assistance. Both provisions are set to take effect six months after the bill's enactment.
