Ensuring Kids Have Access to Medically Necessary Dental Care Act

This bill aims to significantly improve dental coverage under the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). It specifically amends the Social Security Act to prohibit states from establishing any lifetime or annual dollar limits on dental benefits provided to targeted low-income children and pregnant women enrolled in CHIP.

Furthermore, the legislation transforms the option for states to provide dental-only supplemental coverage into a requirement for certain children. This ensures that children receiving this wraparound dental coverage are not subject to less favorable dental benefits or cost-sharing protections compared to those eligible for the full range of CHIP assistance. Both provisions are set to take effect six months after the bill's enactment.
