This legislation amends the Mineral Leasing Act to prolong the duration for collecting a fee on new applications for permits to drill. Specifically, it extends the requirement for the Secretary of the Interior to collect these fees from its current expiration in 2026 to 2037 . Furthermore, the bill clarifies that for each fiscal year from 2027 through 2037, all fees collected from these drilling permit applications must be transferred to the BLM Permit Processing Improvement Fund . This ensures continued financial support for improving the processing of permits by the Bureau of Land Management.
