This bill mandates the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to implement a five-year pilot program within 180 days of enactment. The program will enable veterans diagnosed with an acquired brain injury to utilize funds from the existing Veteran-Directed Care program . These funds are specifically for purchasing care services from eligible veteran mission-driven nonprofits. The pilot program is to be carried out at a minimum of five Department of Veterans Affairs medical centers across the country. An "eligible veteran mission-driven nonprofit" is defined as a 501(c)(3) organization that provides services consistent with the Veteran-Directed Care program. The Secretary is also required to submit annual reports to Congress, detailing participant numbers, clinical outcomes, and veteran satisfaction with the program.
