The bill also mandates the Office of Self-Governance of the Bureau of Indian Affairs to provide essential technical assistance to both the Secretary of Agriculture and any Indian Tribes or Tribal organizations requesting support for these new self-determination contracts, thereby facilitating tribal control over food assistance programs.
