Tiananmen Square Memorial Act of 2026

This legislation proposes to designate a specific segment of International Place Northwest in Washington, D.C., as "Tiananmen Square Memorial Boulevard," located between 3501 and 3507 International Place Northwest. This designation aims to memorialize the events of Tiananmen Square by renaming a prominent area and updating all official references to reflect the new name.

The bill further mandates the redesignation of the address 3505 International Place Northwest to "1 Tiananmen Square Memorial Boulevard." To mark this change, the Administrator of General Services would be required to install distinctive street signs.

These signs, bearing the phrase "Tiananmen Square Memorial Boulevard," are to be similar in design to D.C. Metro station signs and strategically placed on federal property closest to the new address and at specific street corners within the designated area for clear identification.
