Advancing Regional Quantum Hubs Act of 2026

This legislation amends the National Quantum Initiative Act to significantly enhance support for regional innovation initiatives in quantum information science and technology. It integrates the Economic Development Administration into the Subcommittee on Quantum Information Science, which will now facilitate interagency partnerships to bolster regional quantum capabilities. The bill directs the quantum information science research and education program to support these regional initiatives, in collaboration with the Secretaries of Commerce and Energy, focusing on the adoption of viable quantum capabilities. Additionally, the quantum information science research program is tasked with supporting regional innovation efforts involving quantum industry, nonprofits, and small- and medium-sized businesses. These provisions collectively aim to strengthen the innovation, entrepreneurial, educational, and research capacity of geographic regions with expertise in quantum-related fields.
