Federal Law Enforcement Officer Service Weapon Purchase Act of 2026

The Federal Law Enforcement Officer Service Weapon Purchase Act of 2026 directs the Administrator of General Services to establish a program within one year of enactment. This program will allow federal law enforcement officers, including retired personnel, to purchase their service firearms after they have been declared surplus by the issuing agency. For an officer to be eligible, the purchase must be made within a six-month period after the firearm's retirement date, and the officer must be in good standing with their current or former employing agency.
