This legislation, titled the Chiricahua National Park Act , officially redesignates the existing Chiricahua National Monument in Arizona as the Chiricahua National Park . The bill specifies that the park's boundaries will remain identical to those of the former monument as of the enactment date, and any references to the monument will henceforth refer to the new national park. Furthermore, all funds previously allocated to the Chiricahua National Monument will be made available for the newly established National Park. The Secretary of the Interior is directed to administer the new National Park in accordance with both prior Presidential Proclamations related to the monument and the general laws applicable to all units of the National Park System . A significant provision of the bill focuses on the protection of traditional cultural and religious sites within the park. It mandates that the Secretary consult with Indian Tribes to ensure the safeguarding of these sites and provide tribal members with access for traditional cultural and customary uses. The bill also allows for temporary, limited closures of specific areas to the general public, upon request from an Indian Tribe, to protect these traditional activities.
