This bill, known as the "Pregnant Students' Rights Act," amends the Higher Education Act of 1965 to mandate that institutions of higher education participating in federal programs provide comprehensive information to students. The primary goal is to ensure that both prospective and enrolled students are aware of their rights, available accommodations, and resources if they become pregnant and choose to carry a baby to term. The required information includes a list of on-campus and community resources details on accommodations to support pregnant students and new parents instructions on how to file a Title IX complaint with the Department of Education or the institution regarding discrimination related to pregnancy . Institutions must disseminate this information annually via email, in student handbooks, during student orientations, at health centers, and on their public websites.
