United States Cadet Nurse Corps Service Recognition Act of 2025

This bill, known as the United States Cadet Nurse Corps Service Recognition Act of 2025, aims to formally recognize and honor the contributions of individuals who served in the United States Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II. It amends title 38, United States Code, to classify their service between July 1, 1943, and December 31, 1948, as active duty for eligibility to specific benefits under chapters 23 and 24, primarily for headstones and markers . This recognition is contingent upon receiving an honorable discharge , which the Secretary of Defense is directed to issue within one year of the bill's enactment to qualifying individuals whose service warrants it. While honored as veterans, these individuals will not be entitled to other benefits administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs solely based on this service, with the exception of the specified chapters 23 and 24 benefits. Additionally, the Secretary of Defense is authorized to design and produce a service medal or other commendation, or a memorial plaque or grave marker, to further honor these recognized individuals.
