Motorcycle Safety Awareness Act of 2025

This bill aims to enhance motorcyclist safety by modifying federal requirements for state driver education programs. It amends title 23, United States Code, to mandate that states meet at least three specific criteria for motorcyclist safety, an increase from the current two. Crucially, one of these required criteria will be the inclusion of comprehensive motorcyclist awareness instruction in driver education and driving safety courses. These courses, provided by educational and motor vehicle agencies, must incorporate information and testing related to state-specific motorcycle laws , such as lane-splitting and lane-filtering regulations, and emphasize "share-the-road" principles to increase awareness of motorcyclists and scooter riders on the roadway. The amendments made by this Act are set to take effect two years after its enactment.
