Keep America Flying Act of 2026

This bill provides continuing appropriations for essential Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) operations and personnel during a federal government shutdown. It aims to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of critical air travel services by funding key staff and their supporting contractors. These appropriations are specifically for fiscal year 2026, beginning October 1, 2025, in the absence of other interim or full-year funding. The legislation mandates funds to cover standard pay, allowances, and benefits for air traffic controllers and other essential operational personnel of the FAA, crucial for the safe operation of the national airspace system. It also allocates funds for employees of the TSA involved in screening operations , aviation security duties, and related mission-support functions. Additionally, the bill ensures payments to contractors deemed essential for supporting these vital FAA and TSA personnel. All expenditures made under this Act will be charged against future applicable appropriations once enacted.
