This bill facilitates a land interchange in Tuolumne County, California, by transferring administrative jurisdiction over specific federal lands between the Department of Agriculture and the Department of the Interior. Approximately 160 acres of National Forest System land are transferred from the Secretary of Agriculture to the Secretary of the Interior, to be managed as part of Yosemite National Park. Concurrently, about 170 acres of National Park System land are transferred from the Secretary of the Interior to the Secretary of Agriculture, to be managed as part of Stanislaus National Forest. The Secretaries of Agriculture and the Interior are authorized to make minor corrections and adjustments to the transferred land descriptions by mutual agreement, with such changes becoming effective upon publication in the Federal Register. Regarding hazardous substances, each transferring agency remains responsible for any cleanup obligations on the land it transfers. Furthermore, the bill ensures that existing valid rights, withdrawals, easements, leases, and permits remain unaffected, with the receiving agency assuming responsibility for their administration.
