This legislation, known as the Pit River Land Transfer Act of 2025, mandates the transfer of administrative jurisdiction over approximately 583.79 acres of federal land, referred to as the "Four Corners Federal land," from the Secretary of Agriculture to the Secretary of the Interior. Following this transfer, the bill directs the Secretary of the Interior to take this land into trust for the benefit of the Pit River Tribe , including several associated Rancherias. Upon being taken into trust, this land will be considered an integral part of the Tribe's Reservation and will be administered under federal laws and regulations applicable to tribal trust lands. A comprehensive survey of the land is required within 180 days of the Act's enactment. Significantly, the bill explicitly prohibits the use of this newly acquired trust land for any class II or class III gaming activities, as defined by the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
