This bill addresses an encroachment issue in Chester County, Tennessee, where Bethel Baptist Church is encroaching on approximately 19 inches of State forest land within Chickasaw State Forest. Congress finds it necessary to resolve this by releasing the United States' interests in this specific 0.62-acre parcel, which was originally conveyed to the State by the Department of Agriculture. The legislation directs the Secretary of Agriculture to release, without consideration , the federal reversionary interest in the State forest land, which would otherwise take effect if the land ceased to be used for public purposes. Additionally, the bill mandates the conveyance of all mineral interests owned by the United States in this land to the State of Tennessee, also without consideration. Both the release and conveyance are to occur without typical appraisals, reports, or environmental reviews, but the State must cover all associated administrative costs incurred by the United States.
