Equal Shot Act of 2025

This bill aims to prevent the Small Business Administration (SBA) from adopting discriminatory policies against the firearms industry when providing financial assistance. It specifically mandates that the SBA Administrator cannot deny loans, loan guarantees, or other aid to otherwise eligible applicants solely because they are a firearm entity , firearm entity affiliate , or firearm trade association . This measure seeks to ensure fair and equal treatment for these businesses under the Small Business Act. A firearm entity is broadly defined to include businesses engaged in the design, manufacture, marketing, distribution, or sale of firearms, ammunition, and their components or accessories. The protections also extend to affiliated entities like sport shooting ranges, firearm instruction providers, and trade associations, ensuring that federal small business support is allocated without industry-specific bias.
